Punjabi Villans, one of the recognised EDI fan groups by, are holding a Vaisakhi event on Sunday 19th at Villa Park ahead of the Villa v Sunderland game.
The event is being held in the McGregor area (Trinity Road) from just after the players have arrived and gone into the ground. 12.45-1.15pm.
What is Vaisakhi ?
Vaisakhi is a major festival, celebrated on 13 or 14 April each year. It marks the beginning of harvest in the state of Punjab and, more crucially for Sikhs, it also marks the birth of the Khalsa, which was founded in 1699 by the Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Jag Kalaar (Secretary of Punjabi Villans & FAB Member) said, “It’s a real opportunity to bring the vibe, colour and celebration of Vaisakhi to Villa Park, and we’d like to thank Sam Ghataora and Joel Sinkel from AVFC EDI team for collaborating and partnering with the Punjabi Villans in organising this auspicious occasion.”
It will be a real opportunity to get the atmosphere going and there will be plenty of dancing, drums and positive energy.
Look forward to seeing all Villa fans and everyone is welcome!
