Villa Voices: fans and neighbours mapping Aston together

Villa Voices, a new community programme from the Aston Villa Foundation, starts at Villa Park on Monday 2 November. We’re proud that the FAB’s Culture Working Group is part of it.

Supported by the Premier League Fans Fund, Villa Voices brings Aston Villa fans and local residents together across six free, interactive workshops. Over the six weeks, participants will explore the history and heritage of Aston, celebrate 150 years of Aston Villa, share their own stories and work together on a community-led social action project. There’s a free tour of Villa Park too, along with heritage walks, wellbeing sessions, guest speakers and family-friendly activities.

At its heart is a simple idea: the club and the community it calls home have a shared history, and the people who live it should be the ones who tell it.

Where Villa Voices comes from

Villa Voices grows directly out of the work of the FAB’s Culture Working Group. In 2025 the group set out its Culture Working Group Strategic Plan 2025–2028, a programme of 14 initiatives to protect, celebrate and develop the culture of Aston Villa in the build-up to UEFA EURO 2028.

Two parts of that plan come together in Villa Voices. The first is our commitment to amplifying fan voices, so that supporters and the wider community shape the club’s culture, not just watch it. The second is the Aston Villa Cultural Map of Aston: an online, interactive map of Villa Park and the streets around it, celebrating the places that make our history.

Working with the Aston Villa Foundation on Villa Voices means those ideas now have a home, a timetable and, most importantly, people around the table.

Explore the AVFC Cultural Map

The first version of the AVFC Cultural Map is live now. It brings together places that tell the Villa story, from the Holte End, the Trinity Road Stand and the new AV150 Lion Statue to Villa Cross, where the club was founded in 1874, and Wellington Road in Perry Barr, our first ground. Alongside them sit landmarks of the wider area, including Aston Hall and Ozzy Osbourne’s childhood home.

You can filter places by theme, read a little about each one, and follow guided walks that open straight into your phone’s maps app for walking directions.

The map is a work in progress, and it’s meant to be. It will grow over the four rounds of Villa Voices running through 2026–27, shaped by what fans and residents share in the workshops. If you know a place that should be on it, tell us on the Add to the Map page.
